Manhattan has just about everything.

Even a riding academy on west 89th street I noticed tonight on my way home.

That is such an odd/surreal photo. I love it.

I interned briefly at PBS and they had offices right near where the Central Park horses would stable for the night. So in the morning and we'd see them "go to work" up the street. It was really kinda neat.

i held up the camera phone and saw in the view window a frame like a delicate painting, separated from the context of the traffic all around. why did she bring him outside? i was trying to imagine. no saddle or carriage or anything. was she going to bare-back it down amsterdam avenue during rush hour?

it's the oldest stable in the country. also, you can ride their horsies in central park.
